Description
This gut healing bone broth is packed with collagen, minerals, and amino acids to support digestion, soothe inflammation, and boost overall wellness.
Ingredients
2 lbs beef bones or chicken carcass (organic preferred)
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 onion, quartered
3 garlic cloves, smashed
1-inch piece fresh ginger
1 tsp turmeric
2 bay leaves
12 cups filtered water
Sea salt, to taste
Instructions
1. Roast bones at 400°F for 30 minutes to deepen flavor.
2. Place bones in a large pot or slow cooker with all remaining ingredients.
3. Add filtered water to cover.
4. Bring to a boil, then lower to a gentle simmer.
5. Skim foam if needed during first hour.
6. Simmer 12–24 hours (12 for chicken, 24 for beef).
7. Strain broth and let cool. Store in fridge or freezer.
8. Reheat as needed and enjoy warm.
Notes
Use a mix of knuckle and marrow bones for a rich broth.
Store in glass jars for up to 5 days in the fridge or 3 months frozen.
For a low-histamine version, simmer for only 4–6 hours and use fresh bones.
