Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (use vegetarian/halal variety)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, chopped onion, milk, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly but gently.
Transfer mixture to a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan and shape into a loaf
In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1/2 cup ketchup to form the glaze
Pour the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf using a spoon or back of a fork
Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 160°F
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing
Notes
Use vegetarian/halal Worcestershire sauce for dietary compliance
For reduced sodium, use low-sodium ketchup and brown sugar.
Cover with aluminum foil halfway through baking to prevent over-browning
