Ingredients
2 pounds green beans (fresh or frozen, thawed and drained)
2 (10.5 ounce) cans cream of mushroom soup (low-sodium optional)
1/2 cup whole or 2% milk
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground recommended)
1 cup crispy fried onions (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Blanch fresh green beans 2-3 minutes, drain, and cool briefly (skip if using frozen).
In a medium bowl, combine soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
Add green beans to the soup mixture and toss to coat.
Pour the green bean-soup mixture into the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle crispy fried onions evenly over the top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a fresher option, roast garlic and blend into the soup mixture.
If avoiding processed onions, crisp onion slices in a skillet with a bit of oil until golden.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
