Ingredients
4 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
1/2 cup milk or cream (half-and-half or heavy cream for richer results)
1–2 teaspoons sugar (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3–4 slices halal turkey bacon or vegetable alternative, crumbled (optional)
Instructions
Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Add corn kernels (thaw if frozen, drain if canned) and sauté 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
Mix 1/2 cup milk or cream with remaining 2 tablespoons butter, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Pour the liquid mixture into the skillet with corn and stir well.
Simmer 5-10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly, then toast for a few minutes until golden.
Garnish with crumbled halal turkey bacon or vegetable alternative if desired.
Notes
For a lactose-free option, substitute coconut milk or almond milk for dairy.
Add herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
Cooked corn can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
Optional bacon substitution: serve with vegan bacon bits or smoked paprika for a pork-free alternative.
