Ingredients
1 (16-ounce) loaf or 2 store-bought angel food cakes
2 (3.4-ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
3 cups milk (for pudding)
8 ounces cream cheese, softened (optional, for added richness)
1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for sweetening)
Fresh berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries), washed and halved
1 cup whipped cream (optional topping)
Instructions
Cube the angel food cake into 1-inch pieces.
In a large bowl, whisk the pudding mix with 2 cups of milk until thickened.
In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth (if using).
Layer cake cubes in a trifle dish, alternating with pudding, berries, and a dollop of cream cheese mixture.
Repeat layers, covering the base and side of the trifle dish.
Chill for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
Top with remaining whipped cream and fresh berries before serving.
Notes
Substitute angel food cake with pound cake if preferred.
Add other fresh fruits like mango or kiwi for a tropical twist.
Chill for 3–4 hours for optimal flavor absorption.
