Description

Bite-sized sliders made with tender, smoky jackfruit infused in a tangy barbecue sauce. A crowd-pleasing, no-meat alternative perfect for parties or casual meals.

Ingredients

Scale

34 cups shredded young green jackfruit
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 cup molasses
1216 slider buns (enriched white or Hawaiian bread works well)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C)
In a bowl, combine jackfruit with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and 1 tablespoon water. Toss to coat
In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer seasoned jackfruit
In a separate bowl, whisk ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Pour half over jackfruit
Cover dish tightly with foil. Bake for 2.5–3 hours, adding additional sauce every 45 minutes
Uncover and cook 30 more minutes for caramelization
Warm slider buns in oven. Top with 2–3 tablespoons jackfruit mixture

Notes

For maximum jackfruit flavor, source fully drained, unsweetened jackfruit in brine
Add toppings like cole slaw or pickles for extra crunch
Store leftovers in airtight container up to 5 days
