Description
A no-bake dessert featuring layers of graham crackers soaked in a creamy condensed milk mixture, fresh berries, and whipped cream. Perfect for summer gatherings or a refreshing homemade delight chilled to perfection.
Ingredients
Graham Crackers (1.5 to 2 boxes, about 24-30 crackers)
Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz can)
Whipped Cream (12 oz can or 1 1/2 cups homemade)
Fresh Berries (2 1/2 cups total, such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
Lemon Zest (optional, 1 teaspoon)
Lemon Juice (optional, 1 tablespoon)
Instructions
Crack graham crackers into halves or quarters depending on the container size
In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, whipped cream, and vanilla extract (if desired)
Layer graham crackers in a rectangular container, slightly overlapping to form the base
Spread about half of the cream mixture over the graham cracker layer, then top with fresh berries
Repeat layers: graham crackers, cream mixture, and berries, alternating as desired
End with a thick layer of cream mixture and press gently to compress layers
Chill the assembled cake for 4 to 6 hours, or until firm and cohesive
Before serving, let the cake sit at room temperature for 15 minutes and use a plastic knife to lift or slice the cake cleanly
Notes
Use seasonal berries for the freshest flavor
For a vegan version, substitute the whipped cream with coconut-based alternatives
Berries can be mixed and matched (e.g., blackberries or cherries) or enhanced with a splash of orange blossom water for aroma
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight container
The layers will soften but retain shape; adjust the number of graham crackers based on desired texture
