A fresh and vibrant summer beverage blending sweet strawberries with tangy lemon for a refreshing homemade treat, perfect for gatherings or a sunny afternoon sip.

Ingredients

Fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
Granulated sugar
Boiling water
Fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
Cold water
Ice cubes
Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

In a large pitcher or bowl, combine strawberries, sugar, and boiling water. Stir to coat strawberries in sugar and let sit for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After steeping, press the strawberries to extract their juice. Add fresh lemon juice and cold water, mixing well.
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with mint sprigs.

Notes

Adjust sugar to taste depending on lemon acidity and strawberry sweetness.
Use the freshest strawberries and lemons possible for best flavor.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
