Description
A juicy, flavor-packed homemade cheeseburger with halal-friendly crispy bacon, melted cheddar, and fresh toppings. Perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
1.5 pounds ground beef (80/20 lean to fat ratio)
4 burger buns or slider rolls
8 slices cheddar cheese (sharp or mild)
8 slices halal or vegetable bacon substitute
4 large lettuce leaves (butter, iceberg, or romaine)
2 medium tomatoes (sliced)
1/2 cup sliced dill pickles
1/2 medium onion (finely chopped)
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Instructions
Preheat grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.
Form ground beef into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than buns.
Lightly season patties with salt and pepper.
Grill or cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked to your desired doneness.
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last 2 minutes of cooking to melt.
Meanwhile, cook halal bacon substitute in a skillet until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Toasted buns under the broiler or on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
Layer lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, and sautéed onions on the bottom bun.
Top with beef patty, crispy bacon, and condiments (ketchup and mayonnaise). Add the top bun and serve.
Notes
Substitute halal bacon with turkey-approved or plant-based alternatives like smoked tofu for a non-meat option. Toast buns for extra texture. For storage, refrigerate leftover patties in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
